Skylark Hill

Managed to get out for a hour on Friday and decided
to pop up to Soil Hill for a gander, first stop was Taylor
Lane where 10 Redwing were in the tree and 20ish Golden
Plover were in the field at the bottom of the lane but both
flocks decided to scarper as soon as I got out of the car, I
then parked at the top of the lane hoping to see the Little
Owl but couldn't find it so up to the hill I went always
hopeful but absolutely nothing to see until I got to the
tree line where a single Mallard was on the little pond
and 200+ Lapwing were in the pond field, started to walk
around the east side when all of a sudden Skylarks started
popping up everywhere which was a joy to see and hear after
a boring half hour up there, walked all the way around the hill
hoping something else might show but it was just Skylarks so
I then headed home to check on the garden and local field.

    Garden-:
Blackbirds & Mistle Thrush were showing well along with
the Goldfinch and the Redwing showed up again for 5 Minutes,
Great & Blue tits were on the feeders along with a lone Long
Tailed Tit which was nice to see, Robin, Chaffinch, Starling,
Dunnock, Wren, Collared Dove were also popping in.
Yesterday Kept getting reports of Skeins of Pink Footed Geese flying over
different area's of Calderdale but I didn't get to spot them, though
while I was searching the sky a Raptor was being harassed by a crow
which then headed over towards Swalesmoor.
